Alien 3 Assembly Cut Movie But Newt

People may have been largely disappointed with the treatment of Hicks and Newt in the Alien 3 movie but Newt and Ripley may as well have been killed-off for all the impact they have in this story.

It reads as bad fan fiction with clumsy themes and paper-thin characters.

Worth reading if only to get a sense of how much worse Alien 3 could have been.

Henriksen and Biehn slip back into their roles effortlessly and although they sound a little older and deeper, listeners are given a refresh of the story so far by Henriksen as the narrator which works well to get you used to the matured voices.

One thing to remember is while other great audiobooks in the Alien franchise are a good few hours long, this particular one is developed from a movie sized screenplay and so fans expecting four hours of adventure might be disappointed at the length.

Ripley fans may also be dismayed that their favourite hero does not play so large a role in this chapter and really the boys are given a chance to shine this time around.

Alien 3 Assembly Cut Series Is Faithfully

The atmosphere and tension of the Alien series is faithfully translated in this audio drama and its a fantastic peek into the direction the movies could have taken.

Brilliantly produced as weve come to expect from Audible and so great having Michael Beihn and Lance Henricksen back.

Its true that Ripley is mostly absent from this story but considering the brief Gibson got for this story, its not surprising.

Loved the ideas and was good fun, would love to see some of these ideas crop up in future movies.

Is it better than the Alien 3 we got.yes and no.
